At first glance, the trombones seems to be the simplest of instruments with only one moving part. The Skeleton Crew believes this simple design gives it a strong affinity to the human voice. Just like the human voice, the trombone can be as beautiful and dynamic as any of the other instruments. It can be powerful, loud and comical, and it can be gentle and sensitive. Skeleton Crew strives to showcase that variety by playing some haunting melodies from the past, right alongside some fun, swinging tunes. Some listeners are a bit intimidated when they come to hear us for the first time. They sit in the back of the room and seem unsure of what to expect from four trombones. (Of course it could also be because we're all over six feet tall - we need long arms!) However, these listeners soon get accustomed to the unique sound and blend of instruments. We hope that by listening to Skeleton Crew's music you will gain a fuller appreciation of this amazing instrument that we love so much.
